On November 30, 2017, a delegation of Guangdong Imported Food Association (IFA), co-organizer of FHW | Powered by FOOD2CHINA, led by IFA president Qi Yilong, visited National Food Institute of Thailand (NFI) and had a meeting with NFI president and head of Office of Small and Medium Enterprise Promotion of Thailand (OSMEP). The parties discussed marketing of Thai food brands in China, the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership, and the exhibition plan for FHW 2018 Powered by FOOD2CHINA.

IFA President Qi and the Thai leaders have had friendly talks on food trade between China and Thailand. FHW 2017 is the first show for NFI and Thai manufacturers to work together on the exploration of the South China market, the effects of which have been well acknowledged by the Thai leaders. 25 high quality Thai food enterprises took part in the 2017 edition, exhibiting various kinds of novel Thai food products.

NFI president and the head of OSMEP spoke highly of the assistance FHW | Powered by FOOD2CHINA provides as a platform for Thai food suppliers to find partners in China and the indispensable role IFA has been playing in food trade between China and Thailand. They also expressed the possibility of more opportunities for further cooperation in the future. Afterwards, the Thai leaders introduced the mission of NFI to the IFA delegation: to provide trade information for Thai food manufacturers, to help solve food-industry-related issues, and ultimately to promote development and competitiveness of Thai food enterprises.

Because of the success of FHW 2017| Powered by FOOD2CHINA, NFI will recommend high quality Thai food exporters to participate in FHW 2018 | Powered by FOOD2CHINA and encourage more Thai enterprises to join the marketing activities, conferences and exhibitions held by IFA in South China region.
