FHW CHINA 2014 Successfully Concluded

FHW CHINA 2014 drew to a successful close at Hall 13.2, Area B, China Import and Export Fair Complex on November 13, 2014. The 3-day fair attracted 12 thousand person-time professional buyers and 5,200 registered trade buyers.
 
The scale of the fair keeps increasing each year. The total exhibition area of this year’s edition exceeded 8,000 square meters. Over 400 enterprises from more than 20 countries and regions (Italy, Thailand, Brazil, South Korea, Argentina, Uganda, UK, and Greece, etc.) participated. The international exhibition area expanded while domestic exhibition area kept stable. Italy, New Zealand and South Korea pavilions all surpassed 300 square meters in area. One of the highlights of the fair was the “Guangdong Expo Milano 2015 Preview Area”, which featured shows and presentations of participating cities like Chaozhou, Foshan, Heyuan, Mezhou and Zhongshan. The total area of the preview area surpassed 350 square meters.  


 
Not only the scale of the fair escalated this year, but the quality of the exhibits was better as well, many of which has been seen in China for the first time and were extremely popular among the present buyers: 100% hand-made gelato, candy, cookies, extra virgin olive oil, sauce and coffee from Italy; honey, wild seafood, meat products, wheaten food, condiments, additives, tea, coffee, beverage and fruit juice from Thailand; traditional wine, biscuits, popcorn, rice cake, mochi and pie from South Korea; sweets and jelly from Russia; green food and healthy snacks from the Netherlands, to name a few. 



 
To make a break though from traditional fair and start a new mode of online-offline alliance, FHW CHINA 2014 formed strategic partnership with FOOD2CHINA.com (the only vertical imported food e-commerce platform) to help the exhibitors get quick access to China market. It also cooperated with Sinatone (e-commerce Logistics company), iPeanut Technology (O2O channel marketing expert) and 9KaCha (digital marketing platform) to provide an all-around integrative marketing platform and one-stop online-offline services. The seminars held by these partners attracted a large audience. The Business Matching meeting organized by FHW CHINA and FOOD2CHINA was especially successful. The two parties integrated their resources to draw a lot of buyers to register online before the fair. The discussions in the meeting were spirited and the results were highly productive for both buyers and exhibitors. 

 
Another highlight of the fair this year is “World Expo”. In the “Guangdong Expo Milano 2015 Preview Area”, participating cities such as Chaozhou, Shaoguan, Heyuan, Foshan, Zhongshan and Meizhou presented Ningnan food customs in their own special ways which features Canton, Kakka and Chaoshan cuisine culture. After live appraisal and selection by the panel formed of representatives from the World Expo Office, CCPIT Guangdong, Fiera Milano and Worldex Fiera Milano, Chaozhou, Shaoguan, Heyuan and Foshan won honor certificates for their “congou tea art” and “Yao style dance”, featured local food and peculiar booth design respectively and also the chance to perform at China Pavilion Guangdong Week of Expo Milano 2015. Through the preview area, visitors experienced in advance the theme of Expo Milano 2015 --- “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”. Moreover, the lucky draw was extremely exciting. The 10 entrance tickets of the world expo had founded their owners. 




 
There were also many brilliant activities during the fair. On the first day, Ms. Anne Elisabeth Luwema, consul general of the Netherlands in Guangzhou, held a business reception meeting on behalf of the Netherlands Pavilion; on the second day, the fair organizer and Adalee Coffee College (top coffee training and promoting agency in the industry) co-hosted a coffee theme day: “How to Get Success on Franchise Coffee Shop Business in China” in the morning and “Every One Drinks Coffee” in the afternoon. The former gathered together many big names in the industry at home and abroad to discuss the factors in running a successful chain coffee shop in China while the latter provided a change for coffee lovers to communicate with distinguished baristas and make an excellent coffee beverage using professional coffee machine with their own hands. Bountiful prizes attracted a lot of participators. Finally, the “Argentine Beef and Wine Tasting” event, organized by the Argentine consulate, pushed the atmosphere to a new high with all the delicacies and tango performance by dancers from South America.
